LG Electronics is setting its sights on robotic actuators and business-to-business appliances as key growth sectors, preparing for potentially significant orders from global tech giants. The company has engineered actuators that are lighter, more efficient, and competitively priced, with plans for mass production already underway. Discussions with several major technology companies are ongoing, and LG is optimistic about securing a substantial initial order in the near future.
Earlier this year, LG introduced its LG Axium actuator brand, leveraging its expertise in motors, drive controls, and component design honed through its home appliance division. By the end of this year, the company aims to establish a fully automated actuator production line at its facility in Changwon. Looking ahead, LG anticipates a rise in demand for actuators as physical AI and humanoid robotics gain traction, particularly around 2030. The company plans to deploy humanoid robots in its Tennessee plant and Changwon smart factory, with future plans to expand into household applications as safety technologies advance.
Simultaneously, LG is broadening its B2B appliance segment. The divisions focusing on built-in appliances and commercial laundry have each seen over 40% annual revenue growth over the past three years. In Europe, LG is bolstering its specialist sales team, expanding its premium built-in brand offerings, and is on track to increase product displays to 3,000 outlets by year’s end.
The company is also enhancing its commercial laundry business with machines offering larger capacities and is extending partnerships in Southeast Asia. In Europe, LG is actively promoting high-efficiency appliances, aligning with its vision to become a leading home appliance brand in the region by 2030.
