South Korean President Lee Jae Myung is set to meet with Evan G. Greenberg, the chair of the U.S.-Korea Business Council and CEO of Chubb Group, to advance economic cooperation and trade relations between Seoul and Washington. The meeting, which will take place on Thursday afternoon, follows a joint plenary meeting of the U.S.-Korea and Korea-U.S. Business Councils held earlier in the day in Seoul.

The business councils are composed of major companies from both countries, aiming to foster trade, investment, and commercial cooperation. The South Korean council operates under the Federation of Korean Industries. During the discussions, President Lee is anticipated to urge the U.S.-Korea Business Council to play a significant role in expanding economic ties and reinforcing the collaborative efforts between the two nations.

This engagement underscores the importance both countries place on strengthening their economic partnership, which is crucial for addressing mutual challenges and leveraging opportunities in the global market. The discussions are expected to touch upon the outcomes of the earlier plenary meeting, potentially setting the stage for new initiatives and agreements that could benefit both South Korean and U.S. businesses.

As the global economic landscape continues to evolve, the collaboration between South Korea and the United States remains pivotal. Both nations are keen on exploring avenues that could lead to increased trade and investment, enhancing their economic resilience and competitiveness. The meeting between President Lee and Greenberg highlights the ongoing efforts to maintain and bolster these vital economic ties.
