South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has advocated for bolstered economic ties with Japan, underscoring the critical need to fortify supply chains for advanced industries amidst prevailing global economic uncertainties. This call to action was made during a meeting in Seoul with a delegation from the Japan Business Federation, headed by its chairman Yoshinobu Tsutsui.

He urged for an expansion of bilateral cooperation through a progressive approach that includes strengthening business partnerships, enhancing people-to-people exchanges, and deepening diplomatic engagements. Lee highlighted that fostering positive public sentiment towards each other could unlock further avenues for economic collaboration between the two nations.
In response, Tsutsui stressed the importance of collaboration among like-minded countries to tackle global economic challenges. He affirmed that businesses in Japan and South Korea are committed to continuing their cooperative efforts.
