Thailand’s women’s volleyball team has secured a place in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games following their triumphant win over South Korea at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026. The 3-0 victory not only earned them a bronze medal but also reinforced their status as a dominant force in Asian women’s volleyball, marking their fourth consecutive medal in the event.
The match, held at Park Arena Komaki, saw Thailand overpower South Korea with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-23. This victory continues Thailand’s impressive track record in Asian Games volleyball, having previously won bronze in 2014, silver in 2018, and another bronze in 2022.
South Korea initially showed promise, taking an early lead in the opening set. However, Thailand responded decisively with strong attacks and serves, ultimately winning the set 25-20. The second set was equally competitive, with South Korea briefly leading at 11-9 before Thailand regained control to clinch it 25-19.
The third set showcased a resilient South Korean squad that once again took the lead, but Thailand’s consistent performance allowed them to level the score at 12-12. The teams were neck and neck until the final moments when Thailand reached match point at 24-23, sealing the victory following a South Korean error.
