The burgeoning partnership between South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set to expand into new areas, promising significant economic and strategic benefits for both nations. This development follows a meeting between South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi, held at Cheong Wa Dae on Friday.
During their discussions, President Lee emphasized the importance of building on the agreements reached during his state visit to the UAE last November. These agreements laid the groundwork for a long-term partnership focusing on mutual interests. Lee expressed gratitude for the UAE’s prioritization of crude oil supplies to South Korea in March, highlighting this as a testament to their strong bilateral relationship. He also pointed to expanding collaboration in sectors such as defense, artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and cultural exchange.
Al Mubarak, conveying greetings from UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reiterated the UAE’s view of South Korea as a close partner. He noted that the cooperation between the two countries has grown beyond traditional areas like energy and infrastructure, now encompassing investment, space exploration, healthcare, and education.
