Zelenskyy said Ukraine faces a painful choice: accept the deal or risk losing critical US support. Winter is already creating widespread suffering as Russian airstrikes destroy infrastructure. Rejecting the plan would make the season even more dangerous.
He said agreeing to it would destroy Ukraine’s freedom. He stressed that only a peace protecting Ukraine from future invasions is acceptable. He vowed to negotiate alternatives that maintain dignity.
European leaders said Trump’s plan is too favorable to Russia and undermines global norms. They insisted that any agreement must protect Ukraine and Europe’s security interests.
